Bon Scott exhibit to take place this summer

Bon Scott

An exhibition featuring rare AC/DC memorabilia will take place in Kirriemuir, Scotland, this summer to mark what would of been the 65th birthday of legendary AC/DC frontman, Bon Scott.

The courier.uk reports that the exhibit will take place at the Gateway to the Glens Museum from July 9th and mueseum staff expect visitors from around the globe to visit in order to see rare AC/DC artifacts, which includes one of Scott's jackets that has never been on public show, during what is also the museum's 10th anniversary.

"We've already had donations from fans in Spain and Germany and I've been taking inquiries for months," said museum assistant Sheila Philp.

"I think this is going to be really big. Kirrie has had a few famous people over the years, but I think Bon Scott is beginning to overtake even J. M. Barrie in popularity"

"People come from everywhere just to see the commemorative plaque we have for him in the town, so you can imagine how many will want to come for this.

"His appeal is universal — everyone, from young kids to grannies and grandads, is interested in him."

Scott was born in Forfar, Scotland in 1946 and lived in Kirriemuir untill he was 6, when he moved to Australia where he played in various band before joining AC/DC in 1974.
