Green Day working on new material

Thu, 02 Jun 2011

Green Day front man Billie Joe Armstrong has revealed to fans via his twitter profile that they are working new material. Their last studio release was 2009's "21st Century Breakdown" and earlier this year they released a live album, entitled "Awesome as F**k"

He tweeted: "Green Day has been jamming new songs every day. There’s a ton of new songs. The direction is fresh and high energy. Feels great."

"I don’t want to give away too much but just know that me, Mike [Dirnt, bassist], Tre [Cool, drummer] and Jason [White, touring guitarist] are collaborating and having the best time playing music."

Armstrong has also been busy behind the mixing desk working with his teenage son and his band Emily's Army on their debut album 'Don't Be A Dick' to be released through Adeline Records on June 14th.
