Metallica named most influential rock band of the past 30 years

In a recent poll by British magazine Kerrang!, Metallica were named the most influential rock band of the past 30 years, beating Foo Fighters, Green Day and Slipknot to the top spot..jpg)
The magazine which is celebrating it's 30th anniversary, after launching it's first issue in June of 1981 conducted the poll as part of their 30th anniversary Special issue.
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich spoke about being named the band that had changed the lives of the Kerrang! readers had given him a "a very warm and fuzzy feeling" before adding he remembers buying the first issue of Kerrang! when he travelled to the UK whilst he was "obsessed with the New Wave of British Heavy Metal" and took his copy of the magazine with him throughout his travels.

4. Slipknot
5. My Chemical Romance
6. Linkin Park
7. Bullet For My Valentine
8. Blink-182
9. Ozzy Osbourne
