Lynyrd Skynyrd BBQ & Beer to open later this year

A new Lynyrd Skynyrd themed restaurant will open later this year at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, according to the bands official website lynyrdskynyrd.com
The concept eatery, which will be known as Lynyrd Skynyrd BBQ & Beer, is the brainchild of Michael Frey and Craig Gilbert of Drive This! Entertainment, which is also the team behind classic Vegas venues such as RHUMBAR & Tacos Tequila
The venue has been designed to look like the 'Hell House', which was the ram shackled building in the backwoods of Jacksonville where the Skynyrd sound first originated. The decor will consist of a vast array of Skynryd artifacts which include original album covers and never before seen artwork, band pictures and guitars belonging to the band. Each night will see a variety of cover bands and musical acts, including special performances from the legendary band throughout the year.
Craig Gilbert said of the new venture "Paying homage to the venue’s famous namesake, Lynyrd Skynyrd BBQ & Beer will embrace the band’s unique spirit and the lifestyle it so proudly defined. We are honored to work with the rock legends to not only create a much-needed, authentic BBQ spot, but also a place for people to immerse themselves in an eclectic blend of rock, country and blues music."
