Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry reveals band's album plans
Thu, 09 Jun 2011
Joe Perry has revealed that Aerosmith will enter the studio next month to begin work on their first studio album in 10 years.
He first revealed the news in a post on twitter, stating: "Whole band has plans to go into the studio with producer Jack Douglas second week of July to work on new Aero CD."
Perry then added an update, tweeting, "Laying down some new tracks this week. Been listening to fans' comments over last couple of years putting that in creative blender."
The band are due to record their new material in the Massachusetts studio that purposely built to work with Douglas, who also produced classic albums 'Get Your Wings', 'Toys In The Attic' and 'Rocks.'
The last Aerosmith album was 2001's 'Just Push Play' and attempts to record a follow-up have been halted by in-house conflicts and a catalogue of health issues affecting the majority of the Boston outfit.
Aerosmith will break the recording process in October to kick off a South American tour in Peru on October 22nd. A US tour is also planned once the new album is finished, according to Perry.
