U2 bring own stage to Glastonbury

Mon, 20 Jun 2011

Last year AC/DC brought their own stage to Download Festival, this year it seems U2 have decided to follow suit for their headlining performance at Glastonbury this Friday.

Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, Glastonbury Festival boss Michael Eavis revealed the band are bringing their own stage for their slot. "U2 are excited, especially after they couldn’t come last year. I first tried to book them 35 years ago. They are bringing their own stage with them. We're having to put a lot of stuff in for them but we’re so happy to have them."

No other details have been revealed yet for their performance this Friday evening, which is scheduled for the Pyramid Stage.

Last week U2 claimed the number 1 spot in Forbes' "Musicians Rich List", find out more about this story here.
