Robert Plant to be honoured at Montreal International Jazz Festival

Former Led Zeppelin vocalist, Robert Plant will be presented with the Montreal International Jazz Festival's Spirit Award on Friday (24th June) after his performance at the Canadian Jazz fiesta, reports The Montreal Gazette.
The award was launched in 2006 and is said to honour "popular artist’s extraordinary contribution to the musical world." So far the prize has gone to Paul Simon (06), Bob Dylan (07), Leonard Cohen (08), Stevie Wonder (09) and Smokey Robinson (10)
Plant will perform at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier of Place des Arts with his group, Band of Joy, making his first appearance at the annual Jazz event which boasts a roster of 3,000 artists from more than 30 countries and attracts close to 2.5 million visitors over its ten day schedule.
Plant will accept the prize from festival co-founder Andre Menard during his 7 p.m concert.
