U2's 'Achtung Baby' turns 20
Fri, 24 Jun 2011
U2's 'Achtung Baby' will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year and the band are planning to reissue the classic album and also bundle in with it their 1993 release, 'Zooropa' in a special edition deluxe set, according to U2 fan site ATU2, via the latest edition of Rolling Stone.
"There will be multiple formats," said U2 manager Paul McGuinness. "If you pile a lot of extra material and packaging and design work into a super-duper box set, there are people who will pay quite a lot for it, so you can budget it at a very high level and pump up the value."
Last month U2 shot an 'Achtung Baby' documentary with director Davis Guggenheim, who oversaw 'It Might Get Loud' the guitar documentary which featured The Edge, Jimmy Page and Jack White. The documentary is expected to be included in with the 'Achtung Baby' re-issue/re-master that is anticipated for later this year.
