Metallica's Nova Scotia concert gets go ahead

Thu, 30 Jun 2011

A concert featuring Metallica is to go ahead after concert promoters resolved money issues with the Canadian authorities, according to local newspaper The Chronicle Herald.

The metal titans are due to play a show in Halifax, Nova Scotia on July 11 but the concert was plunged into jeopardy after the city threatened to withhold support for the concert unless a $359,550 shortfall owed by concert promoter Mark MacKay's Power Promotional Events was not paid back.

In a statement, a spokesman for Halifax Regional Municipality says, "In recent days, issues have been raised with respect to the provision of services associated with the concert. Any outstanding issues have been resolved. We look forward to residents and visitors enjoying a great time at a great concert in a great city."
