'Newermind' - A tribute album to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Nevermind

Nirvana's second studio album - the timeless garage punk classic that is Nevermind - has reached the grand old age of 20 and to celebrate Spin magazine is releasing a cover album that will be made available as of today (Tuesday 19th).
Available for free through their facebook fanpage the album, with its witty title of Newermind, will be available as a physical disc with Augusts' tribute issue to the iconic alt-rock album.
The covers album features a good mix of bands from all era's ranging from 80's Glaswegian rockers The Vaselines, who Cobain cited as one of his favourite bands, through to more recent outfits such as Nashville kraut-punks, JEFF the Brotherhood.
Nevermind has sold over 30 million copies over the last two decades and when first released claimed the first #1 album to emanate from the Seattle scene of the late 80's and early 90's. Although the album didn't fare so well in the UK reaching #7 in the UK album charts.
