The forthcoming Pearl Jam, 'Pearl Jam Twenty' which details the story of the band will be shown at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10th, reports Classic Rock.
The Cameron Crowe directed feature will then be shown at select cinemas around the world for one night only on September 20 and then for a week from September 23.
The DVD will be released on October 24 with a soundtrack CD due out on September 19th.
Crowe says of Pearl Jam Twenty: "We put so much into the film – moments, pieces of footage shot by band members, audio snippets, visual bursts, new and old interviews – many different formats, all meant to present an emotional scrapbook of what it felt like to be a member of the band on this 20-year journey. The richness of the footage made our path very clear – just tell the story of the band and let the music guide us. It was a joy to make this film, and we’re thrilled share it with the fans".
A book, also called Pearl Jam Twenty, is to be published on September 12 by Atlantic Books.
