KISS co-founders to collaborate on memoirs

Wed, 03 Aug 2011

Fans of glam-metal legends KISS will soon get the choice of not one, not two but three memoirs by the bands original members.

Towards the end of last month we reported that former KISS guitarist, Ace Frehley is to release his memoires, "No Regrets: A Rock 'N' Roll Memoir" in November and drummer Peter Criss has a book planned for 2012

However The Hollywood Reporter revealed yesterday that both Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley are collaborating with music journalist, Ken Sharpe, who was behind 'KISS:Behind the Mask:The Official Authorized Biography' on the new literary project, entitled 'Nothin' To Lose.'

The book is set to include interviews with past and present members of the band along with other musicians from their era plus exclusive never-before-seen photographs. IT Books, an imprint of Harper Collins is scheduled to publish the book in Summer 2012.

IT Books Editor Denise Oswald talked to The Hollywood Reporter about the project. "KISS are one of the most beloved and influential hard rock bands of the last forty years. What is particularly fascinating about this project is about how the band got off the ground, how they came up with the concept of who they were that so defined them and captured the love and imagination of all of their fans."
