Justin Hawkins discusses The Darkness' new album
Mon, 08 Aug 2011
Darkness frontman, Justin Hawkins has revealed in a recent interview even more details about the hair metal revivalist's forthcoming album, the bands first since their arduous split back in 2006.
Music Radar reports that the eccentric frontman has revealed in the latest issue of Total Guitar (218) that, "the house is built" in reference to the as-yet-untitled new album's progress, he continued his analogy of the new record by stating:
"And it's a lovely house. How we decorate it is the next conundrum. We're getting to the stage where it's like, how much do we want to blow it?
The Lowestoft boy goes on to reveal the band's dilemma as to whether or not they will include "all those big Queen arrangements" by once again using a peculiar metaphor to sum up their plight:
"Do you overblow it? Do you underblow it? Do you cup the sack while administering said blowjob? Do you pop a finger up the arse? We have to decide how the happy ending goes."
Along with the outlandish and crude sexual metaphors Hawkins also revealed a few influences and themes that fans can expect on the new record:
"There's a lot about small-town life. The album has songs about stuff that's happened to us in the town. It's AC/DC, Queen, Aerosmith, et cetera."
The Darkness' new album is slated for an early 2012 release date.
