Corey Taylor & Duff McKagan writing music together

Tue, 16 Aug 2011

In an interview with Blink 182's Mark Hoppus for his FuseTV show "Hoppus on Music", Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor talked about 'those Velvet Revolver rumours' and writing new music with bassist Duff McKagan.

When asked about his time jamming with Velvet Revolver he explained, "I'm not singing with VELVET REVOLVER. We were doing some writing and doing some jamming and what-not, but it just seemed like there were different ideas as to what they wanted to do. And it was completely mutual; it was all good. I just love the fact that I got to hang out with people I grew up listening to."
He did however reveal he had been writing songs with Velvet Revolver's bassist, Duff McKagan adding that they'll "probably do some stuff later".

Could a new 'supergroup' be in the making? He continued to say, "You never know. There might be a mystery supergroup out there — me and Duff and some other weird people — making some weird music that people are, like, 'What?! That's them?!' So, yeah, maybe. We'll see what happens."

Corey Taylor is currently promoting his new book "Seven Deadly Sins" after finishing up his European tour with Slipknot last month at Sonisphere Festival. Stone Sour are set to release their Live In Brighton DVD later in the year.
