Alex James announces details of the Harvest Music & Culinary Festival

Fri, 19 Aug 2011

Blur bassist and food critic, Alex James has announced details of the Harvest Music & Culinary Festival set to take place on his Kingham Farm on September 9 - 12th 2011.

Here is the official word from organizers:

'Harvest is a celebration of food and music for friends and for families. At both of our festivals, you’ll be able to feast your ears as well as your belly. The nation’s feted chefs rub shoulders with the makers of very popular music and everyone jumps up and down. Bingo.'

'We’re not big but we are perfectly proportioned and well considered, put simply we’ve got more flavour than your regular festival. We hope that you feel the same way as us about the marriage of good food and great music.'

Music wise Harvest Festival offers a diverse range of bands with headlining slots from The Kooks & KT Tunstall as well as The Feeling, Athlete, Fat Freddy's Drop, The Futureheads, The Christains, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Various Cruelties, To Kill A King, Vadoinmessico, Colour Change For Camouflage, The Reaper and Aaron Keylock.

However, the Harvest Festival isn't just about the music and also offers a broad variety of food stalls and pop-up restaurants manned by chiefs such as Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall, Richard Corrigdan and Valentine Warner & Yotam Ottolenghi. It's safe to say that the standard festival goers diet of burgers, chips and Chinese food for breakfast may prove tricky to stick to at this particular culinary and music fiesta.

Festival Directors Dom Gomez and Clare Isaacs say 'With only 25 days to go till Harvest, everything is shaping up for a magical feast for the senses. We can't wait to see Alex's farm come alive with our favourite chefs and bands.'
