New Van Halen single rumour is "false"

Last week a rumour emerged about an upcoming single release from Van Halen entitled "Late Term". Fansite, Van Halen News Desk, have claimed the rumour is false.

The website made a post on Saturday to warn fans not to be fooled by the 'new track', and that "The truth is, there is no Van Halen song called “Late Term” and the song they’re hearing is actually a 13-year-old David Lee Roth song called “Counter Blast”, from his DLR Band album."

Last week also news/rumours of an early 2012 Australian tour was revealed, although as of yet no confirmation has come from the band. Details here.
