Chickenfoot confirm Kenny Aronoff as drummer filling in for Chad Smith

Earlier this month Chickenfoot frontman Sammy Hagar revealed the band were trying out drummer Kenny Aronoff to fill in for Chad Smith as he returns to his day job touring with Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Kenny Aronoff was Chad Smith's own choice in his replacement, Hagar had explained that "Chad picked him because he said Kenny's just like him. He beats his drum set to death. At the end of every show you have to buy a new drum set for these guys. We need that power. Chad, he's powerful. Aronoff will just be on loan anyway. Chad's handing him the baton and he's going to run for awhile. When Chad can come back, we'll make "Chickenfoot IV" 

Last night Chickenfoot released a video to their YouTube Channel with an "important message from Dr Smith":



Chad Smith has reassured fans of 'The Foot' that he will be back and this would be only temporary saying "I got bills to pay! I gotta go and do my day job, but only for a little bit…I’ll be back".

Chickenfoot's second album "Chickenfoot III" is out September 26th (UK) and 27th (US).
