Temple of the Dog

Music fans in attendance at this past weekend's Pearl Jam 20th anniversary spectacular were thrust back in time, if only for about 20 minutes, when Soundgarden's Chris Cornell appeared on stage at the Alpine Valley theatre with Eddie Vedder, Jeff Ament, Matt Cameron, Mike Mcreedy & Stone Gossard to briefly reform 90's grunge outfit, Temple of the Dog.

Rumours on twitter about a possible reunion between Cornell & Pearl Jam were rife after it was revealed that the Soundgarden frontman was overheard earlier in the day sound checking Temple classics 'Hunger Strike' & 'Say Hello 2 Heaven.'

Pearl Jam had picked a rich variety of alt-rock heavyweights to appear at both days of their 20th anniversary celebrations ranging from garage punk heavyweights, Mudhoney through to NY indie saviours, The Strokes as well as desert-rock titans, Queens of the Stone Age among others.

However, no one made more of impact over the two days than Cornell's performance with Pearl Jam members as they reached back to the early 90's to perform 'Hunger Strike', 'Say Hello 2 Heaven' and 'Reach Down' before performing Mother Love Bone classic, 'Stardog Champion.'
