The Foo Fighters take on Westboro Babtist Church

Mon, 19 Sep 2011

This past weekend the Foo Fighters performed a sold out stadium show in Kansas City where they were joined by members of the notorious Westboro Babtist Church who formed a picket line outside the Missouri venue, reports NBCActionNews

Scores of Christian radicals, who lined the entrance of the venue waving placards reading 'America is Doomed' and 'Love Thy Neighbour Equals Rebuke', were met head on by Dave Grohl & The Foo's dressed in cowboy hats, long wigs & fake moustaches mockingly serenadeding them from the back of a modified truck.

Grohl taunted the church's strict fundamentalist views throughout the impromptu set with lyrics set to cause maximum outrage, such as:

"Driving all night, got a hankering for something/Think I'm in the mood for some hot-man muffins/Mmmm, sounds so fine, yes indeed."

The Church says they protest events such as the Foo's gig because of the United States' acceptance of homosexuality, and claim that God will punish America.

Dave Grohl, who appeared to revel in the controversial stunt, ended the song with a message aimed at the Christian sect, he said:

"Ladies and gentlemen, God bless America! Land of the free, home of the brave."
