Nirvana drummer briefly quit in '93 according to new book

The alt-rock juggernaut that is Nirvana may never have reached the heady heights of rocks super league after drummer, Dave Grohl briefly quit the band in '93 after overhearing Kurt Cobain 'bashing' him, reports NYDailyNews
According to author Paul Branngan tensions within the band caused a split to occur between the outfit, with Dave Grohl & Krist Novoselic on one side and Kurt Cobain & wife Courtney Love on the other.
There was apparently a 'sickness at the heart of Nirvana' which became too much for the drummer to bear during an inbound flight from Seattle to Los Angeles in which Grohl reportedly overheard Kurt saying what a "shitty" drummer he was.
It was only at the flight's end that Grohl learned from Novoselic that Cobain wanted him to play more like Mudhoney drummer Dan Peters, who had a brief spell on the Nirvana drummers stool prior to Grohl joining.
This sent Grohl over the edge who called the band's tour manager, Alex Mcleod and told him he wanted 'out' of the band.
The entire story is explained in the upcoming Dave Grohl biography, 'This Is A Call: The Life and Times of Dave Grohl' which will be released on Dec.1 through Da Capo.
