Red Hot Chili Peppers confirmed to headline MTV Awards

This year's MTV EMA's awards will be held in Belfast, Northern Ireland, hosted by singer and Disney actress Selena Gomez on November 6th.  

Earlier this week MTV announced their first act to perform at the awards, Red Hot Chili Peppers.

In a press release on October 5th, MTV promise "an unforgettable performance that will show why they continue to be one of the biggest rock acts on the planet."

Speaking about the upcoming performance at the EMA's the band said, "We haven’t played in Belfast in a long time, so we’re really looking forward to performing at the '2011 MTV EMA' and seeing all our fans!"

RHCP are nomimated for Best Rock act at the awards along with Coldplay, Linkin Park, Kings of Leon and Foo Fighters.
