U2 to release new book detailing 360 world tour

Mon, 17 Oct 2011

U2 are reportedly set to release a new book documenting their record-breaking '360' world tour, reports the NME

The book will be modestly titled 'U2360: The Official Story of the Greatest Spectacle in Stadium Rock History' and will be written by GQ Magazine editor Dylan Jones, who had full access to the entire world-tour.

The U2 '360' tour, which was in support of the group's 2009 album No Line on the Horizon, was named after the revolving stage configuration which allowed the audience to surround the band. It was supported by a colossal four-legged rig named 'The Claw' which supported the stage.

The tour kicked off in Barcelona on June 30 and ended at Moncton's Magnetic Hill Music Festival in Canada on July 30 raking in an eye watering $736,137,344 (£448,000,000) during its two year stint beating The Rolling Stones' record of 'highest grossing tour' which was $558,000,000.

The book will not be released for another year and according to publishers Random House will be in stores for Oct 2012.
