Motley Crue fans in Indonesia scammed out of $60,000 for concert that never was to happen

Mon, 17 Oct 2011

Last month Motley Crue shocked fans in Indonesia when they rejected the claims they were set to perform their first concert ever in Indonesia, especially as over 1500 fans had purchased tickets already from the concert's 'supposed' promoters reports local English language news paper The Jakarta Globe.

Tickets went onsale last month for the October 8th show at the Pantai Karnaval in Ancol, North Jakarta.

The scam shock was unveiled when a fan asked Motley bassist Nikki Sixx about the show and if the show was real.

"No. We had looked into the show but had to pass... Sorry," Sixx replied back.

Later on drummer Tommy Lee responded with a less subtle response to a fan explaining "A shady promoter" had messed up the plan for the show.

The band confirmed also via their website that they had not scheduled a show in Jakarta or anywhere else in Indonesia.
