Radiohead's Ed O'Brien discusses 2012 tour

Wed, 19 Oct 2011

Radiohead guitarist, Ed O'Brien has revealed in an interview with BBC 6 Music (via Pitchfork) that the band are 'finalizing dates' for a 2012 tour that will run from the end of February through till November which will see them play the 'usual ports of call' in the U.K & U.S

O'Brien also reveals that some of the band's US dates are scheduled to take place outside, although the focus will be on indoor venues as the band believes performing the King of Limbs in outdoor festival settings 'doesn't feel right'.

According to the co-founding guitarist the 2012 tour will see a deeper mix of Radiohead numbers as opposed to playing the new album & all their 'greatest' hits.

"I think the important thing is that it's got to be a set in itself, it's got to work. Last time we went out, it felt very much like In Rainbows plus the greatest hits. And it's not going to be like that this time. I guess it's going to be predominantly from this record and the last record, and then see which songs fit around that."
