Wed, 19 Oct 2011
A whole host of musicians from past & present are to appear on a new charity compilation made up of Bob Dylan covers, reports The Daily Express
Sting, Patti Smith, Adele & The Dave Matthews Band are just some of the names who will be contributing to the album entitled, Chimes to Freedom: Songs of Bob Dylan Honouring 50 Years of Amnesty International which will benefit the human rights group.
Also slated to appear on the album are My Morning Jacket, Rise Against, Bad Religion, Lucinda Williams & Kei$ha, who told The Rolling Stone:
"When you think of me, you wouldn't think of Bob Dylan. My music is more about going crazy than politics. But he's a huge influence - he writes his own music and means what he says. I write my own music and I f**king mean every work I sing. (In the song) you can hear the snot running down my face."
There are presumably more artists on the collection, but this is the complete list to date.
