Arctic Monkeys frontman thinks their choice of band name is bad

Thu, 27 Oct 2011

As they prepare to start their UK Arena tour, Arctic Monkey's singer Alex Turner has revealed he thinks their band name is bad.

Speaking recently to Q Magazine the singer explained they didn't try out any other names before deciding to stick with Arctic Monkey's, and now believes its a bad choice and sound's like a first attempt at a band name, he says "It's so bad that the tribute bands don't sound worse. I saw there's an Aertex Monkeys, that's pretty clever."

Guitarist Jamie Cook is the band member to blame it seems for coming up with the name as Turner adds, "I've no idea where it came from. It was Jamie's fault, he came up with it and he's never even told us why. If he even knows, he's keeping it a secret from me."

The band kick off their UK tour in Nottingham tomorrow night.
