Radiohead's Ed O'Brien to auction Telecaster for the Billie Butterfly Fund
Fri, 04 Nov 2011
Radiohead are to auction a Fender Telecaster used by guitarist Ed O'Brien to record 'Kid A' & 'Amnesiac', according to ConsequenceofSound
The white Telecaster, which has been signed by all five members of the band, will be put up for auction to raise funds for the Billie Butterfly Fund, which will benefit a young girl called Billie Bainbridge who has been diagnosed with an inoperable form of brain cancer.
The current asking price is £410.00 but there is still some time before the auction closes. You can place your own bid here.
The winning bidder will also receive a brand new guitar case and a hand written note by O'Brien which reads
"To whoever ends up with this Tele…
It was bought in the summer of ’98, just prior to us going into record the albums which came out as Kid A and Amnesiac. It was pretty much the only guitar I used at that time. It’s also been gigged a lot, up until and including the In Rainbows tour.
Hope you enjoy it – all the best"
Ed O’Brien
