Former Megadeth guitarist writes song for movie

Wed, 09 Nov 2011

At the end of October Former Megadeth guitarist, Marty Friedman revealed to his fans that he'd signed a new deal to pen a theme tune for a movie, saying "I just got the contract to write the theme song to a new major movie."

Yesterday, in a post on his Facebook Page he confirmed he had now finished recording the song "I am stoked!" he says whilst talking about the recording of the song.

"It was a rare time when I actually worked out the entire solo-little did I know that the movie people would have me change the whole song`s key 3 times by the time we did the actual tracking." he says of the process. See his full post here.

As yet, there has been no confirmation of the name of the movie he's been writing for.

Marty Friedman has also released a new solo album, "Tokyo Jukebox 2" (released in Japan in September), featuring drummer Jason Bittner from Shadows Fall (Jason Bittner features in issue 2 of our iDrum Magazine).
