Stone Sour shooting for mid 2012 for new album

Wed, 09 November 2011

Stone Sour have started working on demos for the follow up to their 2010 studio record, "Audio Secrecy" and frontman Corey Taylor hopes they'll be ready to unleash a new record by the middle of 2012.

"Right now we're just working on demos...and a pretty grandiose idea that I've been kind of chewing on for a long time," Taylor tells Billboard.com before adding, "On a musical scale, artistically, visually, we're going to swing for the fences with this one. If we can pull it off, it would be really cool and...put a lot of people in their place. I'm really excited to get working on it."

The band are keeping things underwraps until they have more information to release, but are likely to hit the studio in early 2012 between Taylor and guitarist Jim Root's Slipknot touring commitments at Australia's Soundwave Festival and the rumoured North American tour set for a June kick off.

Stone Sour are also preparing for the releasing of their Live In Brighton DVD, shot during last year's co-headlining UK tour with Avenged Sevenfold.
