Jimi Hendrix postcard considered as historical document

Fri, 11 Nov 2011

A postcard sent from Jimi Hendrix to his dad in 1966 can now be considered a historical document due to the guitar legend mentioning two significant events which shaped his career, reports UltimateClassicRock (Via Letters of Note).

At the time, Hendrix was still a struggling Seattle musician playing as a sideman for the Isley Brothers & Little Richard. That October, after Hendrix had relocated to London, England with Animals bassist Chas Chandler, who went on to manage Hendrix, things started to take shape for the young Hendrix.

He goes on to mention that his group 'The Jimi Hendrix Experience', which comprised of Noel Redding on bass & Mitch Mitchell on drums, were making significant progress and that their first record, Hey Joe, was due out in '2 months' and signs of with 'Your Loving Son Jimi.'
