Paul Rodgers receives song writing award

Paul Rodgers was awarded an ASCAP (The American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers) Songwriting award earlier this month for the song "Bad Company".  

When Rodgers wrote "Bad Company", he was the first person to write a self titled song, with the same name as the band (Bad Company).



Collecting the award on his behalf at the ceremony in London was his son, Steve, as Paul Rodgers was in New York performing as a special guest at Joe Bonamassa's two shows at the Beacom Theatre.

In the last year the song also hit number 1 in the charts after band  Five Finger Death Punch released their cover of the track.  (see below).
