Paul McCartney announces new album for 2012

Sir Paul McCartney has revealed he will release a new album next year which will feature guest spots from Eric Clapton and Stevie Wonder!

Set for a 6th February 2012 release date, the new still to be named album will features covers of songs from Paul McCartney's childhood with two new compositions also.

In the announcement on PaulMcCartney.com the former Beatle has been thinking about the album for a long time and decided, "If I don’t do it now, I’ll never do it."

"It was important for me to keep away from the more obvious song choices so, many of the classic standards will be unfamiliar to some people.  I hope they are in for a pleasant surprise." says the musician about the song choices on the record.
