Megadeth's Dave Mustaine launches brand new Guitar Prodigy app
Tue, 20 Dec 2011
A new app co-created by Dave Mustaine with the help of the Rock Prodigy team is now available on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, reports RollingStone
The app, entitled Dave Mustaine:Guitar Prodigy, will teach metal fans Megadeth hits such as 'Tornado of Souls', 'Public Enemy No.1' and 'Holy Wars' as well as cuts from the band's new album, 'TH1RT3EN.'
The app will feature 'Micro Lessons' that promise to teach technique, theory, rhythm & related chord progression. Multiple skill levels for beginner to expert are available as are leader-board options that let players boast of their highest scores.
The new app promises to let enthusiasts 'shred like Megadeth' & is designed to work in tandem with any real electric or acoustic guitar. Despite its similarities to the video game 'Guitar Hero' the app allows instruments to connect directly to the device or work in conjunction with the microphone, making it less of a game and more of an instruction tool.
"If you have a guitar [and] can run an app, you’ll soon be playing classic Megadeth songs," said Mustaine in a press release. "It’s just like having a private guitar lesson from me."
