New Rush album 'wrapped up' according to their sound engineer

Fri, 23 Dec 2011

The sound engienner for prog-rock titans, Rush, has indicated that the legendary Canadian trio have 'wrapped up' the recording of their forthcoming album Clockwork Angels, reports Gibson

Rich Chycki's tweet read:

'2 months at Revolution Studio in Toronto. Thanks for the hospitality guys! #wrapped'

The Clockwork Angels project has been an ongoing affair for Rush. Guitarist Alex Lifeson first remarked that an additional three songs for their 19th full-length studio offering were almost complete back in August 2010.

Since then both frontman Geddy Lee & drummer Neil Peart have discussed the new record.

Geddy Lee told Billboard in December 2011 the trio were

"making sure the guitar, bass and drum sounds are big and loud and clear, and any time we are going to add an overdub, to make sure that it definitely is adding and not subtracting."

Rush lyricist/drummer Neil Peart said in May 2011:

"I intend it to be my highest achievement lyrically and drumming wise."

So far only two songs have been premiered from the new record, 'Caravan' & 'BU2B' which are both available to buy via digital download.
