Killswitch Engage part ways with singer Howard Jones

Thu, 05 Jan 2012

Yesterday, Killswitch Engaged released a statement to confirm singer Howard Jones was no longer a member of the band.

In the announcement at www.killswitchengage.com the band explained; "We have decided to continue on without Howard Jones as the singer of Killswitch Engage.  We love Howard and are thankful for the nine years that we’ve had him in the band.  Out of respect for everyone involved we will not be discussing the specific reasons behind this decision.  Howard is a part of our family and always will be, and we wish him well."

Last year the departing singer sat out of the bands early 2010 US tour which led to questions about his future with the bands, currently his replacement has not been announced and the band say they have their "work cut out for us" in terms of searching for his replacement.

Since the news broke yesterday rumours have circulating that former Killswitch Engage vocalist (and current Times of Grace frontman) Jesse Leach is set to step into the gap, also rumoured for the vacancy is All that Remains frontman Phil Labonte, but the singer has since denied the rumour on his Twitter account.
