Ronnie James Dio tribute album to be released this year

Tue, 10 Jan 2012

The much anticipated Ronnie James Dio tribute album, set to feature a slew of hard rock & metal artists, will be released later this year (2012), according to UltimateClassicRock

The project is being put together by Ronnie's widow and former manager, Wendy, who revealed at last month's Dimebash (an event honouring late Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell), that she is leaving the song picks to the musicians involved.

So far the artists lined-up for the tribute in memory of the one time Black Sabbath frontman are: Judas Priest vocalist Rob Halford, Ian Gillen of Deep Purple, Motorhead bassist & singer Lemmy Kilmister and Foo Fighters head Dave Grohl, among others.
