Neil Peart talks new Rush album
Fri, 13 Jan 2012
Last year Rush signed a new record deal with Roadrunner
Records and promised fans a new album sometime in the early half of 2012.
In a new post on his website, drummer Neil Peart in addition to wishing his fans a happy new year, gives a little insight on the progress of the new album, which will be released as "Clockwork Angels".
The drummer reveals the band have completed the recording process and are about to start mixing the record, "As we prepare to start mixing in the New Year, it is too early to say anything about the results. (I once described mixing as 'the end of waiting,' while Geddy calls it, 'the death of hope.')"
Peart also goes into a little detail of the writing process the band went as the
y
approached the new record, and he adds "In recent years I have been working deliberately to become more improvisational on the drums, and these sessions were an opportunity to attempt that approach in the studio."
