Scott Weiland has not rejoined Velvet Revolver says drummer
Fri, 20 Jan 2012
After Scott Weiland joined Velvet Revolver for a one-off benefit show in Hollywood last week rumours have circulated that the singer was set to rejoin the band full time.
However, in a recent online chat with fans on Musicians Inquiry's website drummer Matt Sorum answered "no" when asked if Weiland was back in the band.
Despite the denial that they'd reunited the original line up full time, Sorum didn't rule out recording with their former frontman in the future and replied to the question whether the band would make another album with Scott Weiland again one day he said, "You never know. Scott is a great frontman; it's just hard to be on the road sometimes when things don't flow."
When asked if Myles Kennedy would be a contender for the vacant frontman position, the drummer replied "I like him but hes Slash's singer and not considered for VR."
Matt Sorum has currently been workin on his newest project Diamond Baby, and hopes to hit the road internationally soon. Visit www.diamondbabyband.com for more details.
