Long before the home entertainment revolution, when video games consisted of Pong, Pac Man or Space Invaders, pinball machines were big business.
Everything from films, bands, songs & sports were simulated via a brightly-coloured table top playing surface with a certain West London born band dedicating a whole album, film and tour to the pinball culture.
Nowadays, however, the humble pinball machine has been resigned to the basements of collectors, specialist arcade halls & rich nostalgic men attempting to rediscover their adolescence.
However, there is still a market and Stern Pinball Inc are major players and the company have recently announced the latest addition to their ever growing line, an official AC/DC pinball machine, reports UltimateClassicRock
Pinball wizards worldwide will now be able to rock the machine to hard-rock classics such as 'Back In Black', 'Highway To Hell' & 'You Shook Me All Night Long.'
Gary Stern, founder, CEO and chairman of Stern Pinball said, "The combination of classic rock and pinball can’t go wrong. The music and play of the AC/DC machine delivers nothing less than the ultimate rock experience that both AC/DC fans and pinball players can appreciate."
The game features two separate ramps, a lower play field, eight drop targets, a mechanized ‘Hell’s Bell’ and a ball shooting cannon. Other features include a ‘TNT detonator’ and the ‘Devil’s Jukebox.’ Animations of the band are also featured in the design.
The machine comes in three different versions: Pro, Premium and Limited Edition and will cost between $5700 and $8500 to purchase.
