Black Sabbath continue without Bill Ward
Mon, 06 Feb 2012
On Thursday, Black Sabbath's Bill Ward shocked fans by issuing a public s
tatement explaining his current situation in the original band line up reunion.
The Drummer said in his website post, "At this time, I would love nothing more than to be able to proceed with the Black Sabbath album and tour. However, I am unable to continue unless a 'signable' contract is drawn up; a contract that reflects some dignity and respect toward me as an original member of the band."
Ward also added that he was packed and ready to leave the US for England to work on the album and definitely wants to be on the album and go ahead with the tour.
In a public response on Friday, the band's other three members - Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Ozzy Osbourne stated that they had "No choice but to continue recording without Bill Ward".
In the post on their website and Facebook Page the band's official response read, "We were saddened to hear yesterday via Facebook that Bill declined publicly to participate in our current Black Sabbath plans... We have no choice but to continue recording without him although our door is always open... We are still in the U.K. with Tony. Writing and recording the new album and on a roll... See you at Download!!!"
The "original line up" of Black Sabbath is scheduled for a number of festival and tour dates this summer, hopefully the four of them can iron out the differences between now and then!
