Tribute to Gary Moore - One Year on

Mon, 06 Feb 2012

A year ago today we lost an incredible musician, we pay tribPhoto by Kim Wallerute to the legendary today as we celebrate the one and only Gary Moore.

Robert William Gary Moore was born in Belfast on April 4th 1952. Throughout his career dating back to the 1960's, Moore played with artists including Phil Lynott & Brian Downey throughout his teens which led to his part in Irish bands Skid Row and Thin Lizzy.

He also shared the stage with blues and rock legends such as BB King, Albert King, George Harrison and Greg Lake throughout his celebrated career and appeared as a guest performer on a number of top musician's albums.

Releasing countless albums as both a solo artist and as part of his bands and collaborations, Gary Moore continued his successful career and inspired many guitarists around the world.

Sadly Gary Moore passed away one year ago today at the age of 58 whilst on holiday in Spain.

Join us today by celebrating the master guitarist, listen & share your favourite Gary Moore song, watch your favourite performance or pick up your guitar and learn one of his songs!

We've compiled a list of web lessons and related links to help you.

Last year we also paid tribute to Gary Moore in our Guitar Interactive Magazine - Issue 2.
