Motley Crue could release their next album to coincide with the release of their autobiographic movie but are yet to start work on either.

In a recent interview with Ultimate Classic Rock ahead of the bands first Las Vegas residency show guitarist Mick Mars explained, "The movie (based on the band’s autobiographical book ‘The Dirt’) is supposed to come out next year, we’ve got the right producers, the right director, I believe. I think we’re going to start on that one either late this year or early next year, hopefully for release in 2013. Then, probably at the same time, a new record. It’ll be like a double-sock in the stomach."
The guitarist added that he does have alot of riffs ready that he's written recently as they prepared for their Hard Rock Residency but isn't sure if they'll feature on the new Motley Crue record.
Meanwhile when asked about the progress of his own solo record he explained he's not finished yet but is experimenting alot, "I’ve got about a good four or five songs that have potential. I don’t know if I’m happy with them, you know, so I have to keep listening." he says.
Motley Crue will be in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for the rest of February.
