A new museum dedicated to the life and legacy of Johnny Cash will be opened in Nashville, Tennessee later this year.
The driving force behind the propoesed museum is Bill Miller who is an avid Cash fan and also operates the Johnny Cash fan-site. The site will be located on Music City's busy Lower Broadway tourist strip, "right in the middle of the hubbub," according to John Carter Cash, son of Johnny.
The museum will feature Cash-artefacts from The House of Cash, which closed in 1999, along with items endowed by the late-musicians family.
"He's been an incredible supporter of my dad and one of the largest collectors of memorabilia," Rosanne Cash said. "If anybody has the whole structure to put up a museum, he does. So I have a lot of trust in him and I think it's great at this point. I think he'll do something with dignity and class that's historically important, not some kitschy thing. I'm very interested in seeing what he does."
In related news a 'groundbreaking' announcment will be made regarding the ambitious project to perserve Cash's childhood home in Dyess, Ark on the what would of been his 80th birthday (Feb.26).
