Steve Hackett reveals how he gained entry to Led Zepplin's 2007 O2 show
Thu, 09 Feb 2012
Back in 2007, Led Zeppelin took to the stage to perform one of most famed rock-reunions in music history.
The one-off Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert at The O2 Arena in London still boasts the world record for the 'Highest Demand for Tickets for a Single Music Concert' - with 20 million requests for the reunion shows rendered online.
What little tickets there were available got snapped up almost instantly. Even a prog-rock legend such as ex-Genesis maestro, Steve Hackett, was forced to take a more unorthodox approach to entering the gig by means of Yes bassist, Chris Squire.
Hackett reveals in a recent interview that he pretended to be Squire's roadie in order to gain entry to the sold out show. He recalls in the interview that Squire was doing a 'thing' with Keith Emerson that night, and Hackett says he just 'picked up Chris' bass and walked in with him.'
