Sci-fi author announces plans to novelise Rush's new album

Tue, 14 Feb 2012

As veteran prog-rockers Rush put the finishing touches to their new album, 'Clockwork Angels,' sci-fi author Kevin J.Anderson has announced he will commence work on a novelization of the new album, reports RushIsABand

The renowned Colarado based author, who has over forty bestselling novels and has written spin-offs for Star Wars, The X-Files & Dune, announced the news via his Facebook page:

'For more than twenty years, Neil and I have wanted to collaborate on something MAJOR, a way we could tie together our imaginations, and at last that's happening.

I'm writing the novelization of Rush's forthcoming album Clockwork Angels, their first new CD in five years. Imagine if someone had written the novel of The Wall, Tommy, or Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band when those classic albums were released. For Rush fans, CLOCKWORK ANGELS is that project'

Anderson is a lifelong fan of the Canadian trio and has drawn inspiration from the bands music for a number of his books. In fact his 1988 Rush inspired novel 'Resurrection, Inc' drew the attention of drummer Neil Peart and the pair have been friends ever since.

Head to Anderson's official Facebook page to view the announcement in its entirety.
