Deep Purple confirm plans for new album next year

Tue, 24 January 2012

In a post on their official website before the weekend, Deep Purple confirmed their plans for their next album.

"DEEP PURPLE are very excited by the prospect of making a new and significant album." The band announced on www.deep-purple.com.

Instead of the original hope fans had for a new album in Summer 2012, the band decided to extend their writing period into the summer and plan to release it in 2013.

Ian Gillan explained, "We know we will disappoint some of our fans this Summer however we look forward very much to our Autumn/ Winter Tour and continuing our Worldwide tour with our new album in 2013."

Check out the Deep Purple upcoming tour dates in Europe and Canada here.

----In December, we had Deep Purple's Steve Morse in the studio with our very own Jamie Humphries. Stay tuned for more details and footage from his visit!
