Slash to finish recording next week

Fri, 03 Feb 2012

Yesterday, Slash revealed that the recording on his next solo album is almost completed.

In the post to his fans on his Facebook Page the guitarist said, "It looks like we'll be finished recording next week. Then mixing begins. It's all going on."

His second solo album will feature Alter Bridge Myles Kennedy on vocals, which differs to his first record - released in 2010 that saw the Velvet Revolver/ex-Guns N Roses guitarist team up with a host of different musicians to create the hit record.

Speaking recently to Total Guitar Magazine, Slash talked about the recording sessions to explain, "We're just going for the one take that sounds good, so my solos are more raw, probably sloppier in a way, because they're very spontaneous to the point where it's in the heat of the moment. Everything is being played live with the music tracks, the solos, everything. We're trying not to overdub extra bits. So if there's a solo, I'm playing on one side, Myles' rhythm track is on the other."

Slash is also recording the new album this time with his live band and is happy the way they've all bonded as they toured the globe together.  See the previous interview with Slash about his band and recording the new album below:

Slash with Myles Kennedy will tour the festival circuit this summer including spots at the US festival Rock on the Range and the UK's Download Festival.
