BFMV's Matt Tuck announces new band "Axe Wound"

Tue, 01 May 2012

In October last year, Bullet For My Valentine frontman Matt Tuck revealed that he'd been working on a secret side project.

The guitarist and vocalist kept the details and line up to himself, but did reveal the sound would be alot heavier than the melodic style of his full time band "It's nice to step out of that comfort zone and do something fucking ridiculous and not worry about what people are gonna think, because it doesn't exist yet."

He says before concluding, "We wanted to go in there with kind of like a SLIPKNOT attitude of just everything… Like the 'Iowa' album — just fucking violent. Let it all out. No holds barred."

Last night the band was unveiled as a collaboration between the BFMV frontman Tuck and members of Cancer Bats, Rise to Remain, Pitchshifter and Glamour of The Kill, "Axe Wound".

The band are:
Matt Tuck (Bullet For My Valentine)
Liam Cormier (Cancer Bats)
Joe Copcutt (Rise To Remain)
Jason Bowld (Pitchshifter)
Mike KingsWood (Glamour Of The Kill)

The announcement came on the Radio 1 Rock Show last night, and the debut single "Post Apocalyptic Party" can be heard below:
