Axe Wound's debut album to feature guest solo from A7X's Synyster Gates

Wed, 02 May 2012
As posted yesterday, Matt Tuck unveiled his new side project to Bullet For My Valentine, Axe Wound.

The band which promises a heavier sound than his full time band's melodic style features band members; Matt Tuck (Bullet For My Valentine), Liam Cormier (Cancer Bats), Joe Copcutt (Rise To Remain), Jason Bowld (ex-Pitchshifter), Mike Kingswood (Glamour Of The Kill) and they have already confirmed a string of tour dates for the summer.

Axe Wound are poised to release their debut album this summer which will also see a guest appearance from Avenged Sevenfold guitarist Synyster Gates which is said he delivers a "Finger-burning guitar solo" for the track "Vultures".

The yet to be titled album but was created at the Atrium studios in Cardiff and Tuck told BBC Radio 1's Rock Show that when the decision to choose a vocalist came it was easy, "The first phone call I made was to Liam [Cormier, of CANCER BATS]." He goes on to add, "We've toured the world together and I've always admired the furious energy he brings to a performance."

The BFMV frontman adds he knew as soon as Cormier recorded his trademark vocals on the project that they "had something special" and it was "way more than just a studio project", he adds they decided they had to take the band on the road and perform the songs live.
