Tue, 08 May 2012

Blur frontman Damon Albarn revealed on BBC Radio 4's Front Row over the weekend that he has started work on a solo album.

Whilst last month he revealed he was unsure if there was any new Blur or Gorillaz album's in the future he has started to work on material under his own name.

Talking about his new project he explains, "This week we're mucking around with these Russian synthesizers in a very loose mind of doing some kind of record under my name. I suppose you could call it a solo record, but I don't like that word. It sounds very lonely - solo. I don't really want to be solo in my life. But yeah, I'm making another record."

The singer also sang a preview of the new Blur single on the show, which can be heard here. Whilst he's unsure of if new Blur material is in the future he told Radio presenter John Wilson "Never say never" giving Blur fans hope for more new music.
